UN special rapporteurs write to Ghana over the bill's threat to rights

A group of United Nations mandate holders — including the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention and special rapporteurs on education, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to health, and the situation of human rights defenders, together with the Independent Expert on sexual orientation and gender identity — addressed a joint communication to the Government of Ghana.

Joint communications are public documents. They record what the international system asked a government, and what the government said in reply. For Ghanaians they are one of the few ways to read the state's own answers to specific allegations.
