CHRAJ received 10,525 complaints in one year, most about children
Children's cases were the largest single category in the commission's 2023 reporting.
3 April 2024

CHRAJ reported receiving 10,525 complaints in 2023 across its human rights, administrative justice and anti-corruption mandates, with children's cases forming the largest category.
In its Universal Periodic Review submission, the commission noted that Ghana's National Human Rights Action Plan, drafted after a 2016 baseline study, had still not been implemented.
CHRAJ is the body ordinary people can reach without a lawyer. Its caseload is the closest thing Ghana has to a national measure of everyday rights violations.
