Two decades on, the Disability Act is still not implemented

A CHRAJ director publicly criticised the slow implementation of the Persons with Disability Act, 2006 (Act 715), pointing to continuing accessibility failures in public buildings and services.
The Act gave a ten-year transition period for making public buildings accessible. That period expired in 2016.
Ghana's replies to the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities address accessibility and institutionalisation among other compliance questions.
